The finished product…

The clothing window was easy but time consuming. The braided fabric took weeks to prepare. We cut strips of fabric and braided three strands, then took three of those completed braids to create one thick braid. I’m sure you can imagine. I originally wanted the rug to be the backdrop and the wood pieces to be the floor. My gut told me otherwise and I changed my mind during the construction of the window. I am constantly amazed how quick ideas can change even when you’ve been planning them for months. That’s what makes it fun! The other window consists of a new line of kitchen papers called Cake. This is a great new line of placemats, napkins, cheese paper you can serve directly on, cake stand paper (modern day doily) and table wrap that serves as a table runner. Perfect for entertaining! The response has already been great! We created a cardboard table for this display so we could showcase the placemats. When I first thought of the idea I thought how in the world am I going to cut out a table? It turned out easier then I thought. I wish that was always the case. I love my new windows! Hope everyone else does too.

Fall is by far my favorite time in the store! I know I should say Christmas but there is something about the warmth of the colors in Fall that puts me at ease. I love the feel of the store the best with warm Fall colors. This year I got a head start. Usually I make the transition from summer to fall in late September. This year I had both windows up by September 2! I am way ahead! This way I can enjoy the season just a bit longer than normal (even if it is hot outside). I am excited for the upcoming seasons and hope to provide the best merchandise and displays we’ve ever had. I have a new love for the store, probably because I am so thankful to still be around, and will continue to do the best job I can.
