Jeanine Payer came for a visit…

Monday, July 11th, 2011

My favorite jewelry artist, Jeanine Payer, came for a visit last week. Not my typical appointment. I have been selling her jewelry for almost 12 years now and her jewelry line remains my favorite. She is a true artist and I admire her creativity and thought behind each piece. There is truly always a story to tell of how, why and when she designed each piece in her collection. I love especially hearing about where her inspiration for each new collection comes from. The poetry aspect of her jewelry always intrigues me. I love to see the instant connection when a customer is struck by the words on a particular piece. This is after all what this line is all about. I have quite the collection myself from over the years and can tell you why I chose each one at a different time in my life. We change as individuals so of course poetry is going to affect us differently at each stage in our lives. I hope to continue to sell her jewelry for another 12 years and I look forward to adding to my personal collection.

I think this may be in my personal collection!

We join spokes together in a wheel, but it is the center hole that makes the wagon move. We shape clay into a pot, but it is the emptiness inside that holds whatever we desire. We hammer wood for a house, but it is the inner space that makes it livable. We work with being, but non-being is what we use.”

Thank you Jeanine,

3rd Quarter Charity…Children Today

JULY-SEPTEMBER

10 % of our profits will be donated to

Children Today

Children Today provides free day care service to homeless families throughout Long Beach. I chose this organization for my 3rd Charity because of the compassion and security they provide children on a daily basis. The one thing children should feel is safe. They cannot control the circumstances around them and it is up to adults to provide that security and love. My goal this year is to donate to local organizations so my community knows first-hand where their money is going when they shop at Blue Windows. I believe it also allows all of us to see what is happening in our community and opens doors to help financially and through volunteering. Please check out Children Today’s website to learn more about what they provide to Long Beach families!

Children Today’s 3rd Annual 5K/10K Run/Walk

Blue Windows is forming a team to run/walk the 10k in support of Children Today.

Please come out and join us.

Thank you for continued support,

Heather

31 Bits Trunk Show…

Saturday, July 2nd, 2011

PROVERBS 31 + BITS OF PAPER = 31 BITS

The Trunk Show was a great success and I enjoyed every minute from start to finish. The creative process was so much fun. Inspiration came from so many sources I found it hard to restrain myself from doing yet another project for the show. I was inspired by the women’s stories in Uganda, the vibrant colors of the beads and the simplicity of the use of recycled paper. I know my employees were just as excited as I was to create for this show. I certainly could not have done it without them. I hope the women of 31 Bits realize the color they are bringing into our lives.

Thank you to all my customers who continue to support Blue Windows.
