For every $50 purchase we will donate 1 Toy…

Friday, November 26th, 2010

When I started this year long mission of choosing a charity every month I always knew in December it would be all about TOYS! I think everyone can remember from their childhood what it was like at Christmas when you would unwrap a toy. I think every child deserves that experience. So, throughout Novemeber and December I will donate 1 toy for every $50 purchase. I figure we will have to buy the toys around the middle of December so I made November a part of this charity so we could get LOTS OF TOYS! The toys will be distributed to local charities or organizations throughout Long Beach. If anyone has a charity or family in particular that could use toys please let us know.

Window displays are definitely one of the best days at Blue Windows. I always seem to think I can get more done in one day than what actually happens. I assumed we could finish both holiday windows in one day but needless to say it took two. I love creating and brainstorming with my employees. We bounce ideas off each other and the end result is a team effort. I am so proud to have my crew!

The TOYS window is officially DONE!

Now on to the clothing window…

blowing glitter on the backdrop!

It’s a messy job!

I look forward to this holiday season! I hope to enjoy everything it has to offer!

Christmas decorating…

BEFORE…

AFTER…

Sunday night we closed early and began our traditional Christmas decorating. Trees, lights, garland, mistletoe, ornaments, and stockings are all the basics for a great holiday season. Holli, Alyson and Andrea came alongside me to help with the decorating. There were times when silliness took us over but I’ve found that is when the magic happens. How can you be in a bad mood while decorating Christmas? With gingerbread cupcakes and coffee to keep us energized we got done in record time. I am excited for the season and am falling in love with my store all over again. I hope everyone else does too.

We are almost ready! Just a few more touches to the store and the window displays!
